    POSITION PURPOSE

    Cleans guest rooms per company standards.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Clean rooms to company standards, using various equipment, cleaning supplies, and tools.
    • Stock guest rooms with supplies per company standards.
    • Record room maintenance requirements on form and give copy to Maintenance Department, Head Housekeeper, and/or supervisor.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    PERFORMANCE STANDARDS


    Complete room cleaning sequence in an average of 20 minutes with no more than an average of 1 ½ defects per room cleaned.

     

    * Must be willing to work overtime without notice as needed to meet job standards.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT


    Frequent movement between heated and/or air conditioned environment and outdoor environment. There may be some exposure to unpleasant weather.

     

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    a)    Knowledge, Skills and General Abilities

    • Ability to learn to carry out the room cleaning sequence outlined in company standards.
    • Ability to learn the proper use of industrial cleaning chemicals.
    • Ability to read English or Spanish.

    b)    Physical Abilities – May be required to:

    • Stand continuously for entire shift.
    • Maneuver a housekeeping cart in corridors and walkways.
    • Lift up to 25 pounds to remove trash and load stock onto carts.
    • Satisfactorily perform all required cleaning operations.

    c)    Mental Abilities – Must be able to:

    • Work independently, with minimal direction, and maintain a high degree of productivity and quality.

    *Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the business.  In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

     

    QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

    • Previous housekeeping experience an asset.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
    • Responsible and reliable.
    • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
