Responsibilities

POSITION DESCRIPTION - Corporate Director, Human Resources & Risk Management

 

Good Nite Inn is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, versatile and hands-on Director of Human Resources and Risk Management to provide human resources and risk management leadership for all 13 of its properties inclusive of the corporate offices.

 

Reporting directly to the Company President, this very hands-on leadership position will work closely with all corporate and property personnel to cultivate and maintain a talented, positive and high performing workforce. This position will also focus on risk management as it relates to creating a very safe work environment and guest experience.

 

This West Los Angeles based position will be responsible for and oversee each of following areas:

  • Strategic Recruitment – Includes use of all social media platforms and ATS management.
  • Risk Management – Oversight of both General Liability (Guest) and Workers’ Compensation (Team Members) administration.
  • Team Member Relations and Management with emphasis on teamwork
  • Performance Management (i.e. Performance Reviews)
  • Wage and Hour Administration and Compliance
  • Team Member Recognition
  • Compensation And Benefits Administration Change Management
  • Process Improvement (for all areas of responsibility)
  • All Aspects of Human Resources Administration

Qualifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This job supervises one (1) Human Resources Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, JOB KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Four-year college degree in business, hospitality, human resources or related major.
  • Minimum 10 years HR management experience working in a hands-on, up-tempo and diverse corporate office setting. Note: This role will also help support our General Managers in the field at each of our 13 locations. This interaction will be on a day to day basis.
  • Prior hotel experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, effectively with co-workers; respond to employee requests, with high level of patience, diplomacy and tact. Excellent interpersonal skills to provide overall employee satisfaction. Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal wage and hour regulations.
  • Maintains professionalism at all times, demonstrating courtesy and respect to employees and co-workers
  • Adept at using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to operate HRIS, payroll and timekeeping software as may be required.
  • Strong business acumen and problem solving skills.
  • Results driven with a high sense of urgency; skilled at managing and facilitating change, high initiative, innovative with the ability to multi-task.
  • SPHR/PHR certification is preferred (but not absolutely required). Ability to stand and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift

  • Must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push
  • Must have good near and far vision
  • Must be able to hear, talk, smell
  • Majority of duties performed indoors. Noise level moderate.
